Purpose of On-line Exams
•The main goal of the on-line exams is to assist in the learning process by identifying what students have learned during instruction
•Instructors often use the results of on-line exams to
–Make inferences about the proficiency of individual students
–Determine class level strengths and weaknesses
–Adjust instructional process
For example, if an instructor notices that a number of students in the class had difficulties answering questions regarding a certain concept, he/she may decide to add additional activities covering that topic before moving on to the next chapter.

Instructors can use assessment results to guide students in further study of material not yet mastered, improve upon existing instructional practices, and enhance existing instruction with additional activities.

The next slide will demonstrate the assessment and personalized feedback.
