Field Test Questions
•Field test questions are questions that appear on a test but are not used as part of the student's score. •The questions are used on a trial basis to ensure their appropriateness and quality before they are used in tests to determine a student's grade.
These questions will not appear in the gradebook. Questions that are being field-tested will appear randomly within an exam, can vary in number, and may differ from student to student.  Field test items usually appear on Final exams, however they can be used on any type of exam.

Instructors can determine if a particular form of an exam will have field test items by looking at the Form information provided on the “Default Form Attributes Page”. Students will be informed that field test items are included on their exam on the exam introduction page, prior to beginning the exam.

it is important that each student be aware that the exact number of questions he or she answers may differ from other students and that they must always complete their entire exam to receive a grade.
